Announcement of Whakaata Māori YouTube Channel as the Livestream Platform for April Events
We are thrilled to announce that the Whakaata Māori YouTube channel will be the host platform for the back-to-back 2024 Apollo Projects NZ Swimming Championships and 2024 Apollo Projects NZ Age Group Swimming Championships at the Hawke’s Bay Regional Aquatic Centre next month.
We are grateful for Whakaata Māori’s ongoing support of swimming which has helped us provide all sessions of both weeks live and free to our swimming community. Our livestream has always attracted plenty of attention from across the country, and we are excited to be able to continue making the livestream freely available thanks to the support of Whakaata Māori.
Swimming NZ’s Head of Participation & Events, Dale Johnson, is looking forward to an exciting April.
“We can’t wait to get the racing underway in Hawke’s Bay as our top open and age group swimmers battle it out to be the national champ, as well as those aspiring to qualify for Paris. We are very appreciative of the ongoing support from Whakaata Māori in helping us provide the livestream live and free for our community. We don’t want anyone to miss out on the action.”
Whakaata Māori is also pleased to be hosting the events on their platform.

Don’t miss any of the action as our top NZ swimmers meet at the Hawke’s Bay Regional Aquatic Centre from Tuesday 9 – Saturday 13 April as they try to Unlock Their Greatness and qualify for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. The livestream link will be provided on the event webpage throughout the events.
Fresh from their success in Doha, World Champions Erika Fairweather and Lewis Clareburt will be in action in their favourite events as they look to be primed to take on the best in the world in Paris.
Paralympic Champions Cameron Leslie and Tupou Neiufi will be swimming their best events to qualify their position on the Paralympic team. Commonwealth Games Gold Medallists Josh Willmer and Andrew Jeffcoat will be hoping to secure selection for Paris.
