Parent Breakfasts at National Events

Parent Breakfasts at National Events

At the recent Apollo Projects Junior Festivals held across the country, the introduction of Parent Breakfasts was a great way of giving back to parents. 50 parents took part in the opportunity to have something to eat and mingle together, and learn a bit more about Balance is Better in an engaging discussion.

The sessions were led by Swimming New Zealand’s Head of Participation & Events, Dale Johnson, where the discussion was about the focus and importance of providing positive experiences for those within swimming to help foster a lifelong love of the water. “We have identified parents and coaches as integral to providing the best possible experiences for swimmers, and the Parent Breakfasts are one way to support and say thank you for the role they play. There were some great conversations during the Apollo Projects Junior Festivals and we will be continuing with the Parent Breakfasts at all national pool events in 2023.”

Everyone has a role to play in this journey. We encourage everyone to pop into the Parent Breakfasts next year to meet other parents, have a bit to eat during the warm-up session and learn about different areas within swimming.

Free tickets for the Parent Breakfasts will be available on Humanitix alongside ticket sales for each respective event in 2023.
