Opportunity For Your Say in the Competition Review

Proposal for Community Feedback in the Competition Review (2025 – 2028)

The time has come for you to have your say on the Proposal for Community Feedback in the Competition Review (2025 – 2028) by Sunday 10 March.

The Working Group has put together a Proposal for Community Feedback document which provides an overview of the process undertaken in the process. This included identifying eight issues, and have provided eight recommendations to resolve these issues identified.

Over the past few months, the Competition Review working group has met to discuss their recommendations for all levels competitions (including pathways, structures, formats and meet approval) in New Zealand within the Terms of Reference.

Swimming NZ’s Head of Participation & Events, Dale Johnson, urges everyone across the swimming community to take the time to read and provide feedback on the proposal.

“It’s vital that we hear feedback from all our members across the swimming community to help us set up our competitions landscape for the next 4 years. Please take the time to read the proposal document and then complete Community Feedback Survey before the 10 March deadline.”

Johnson thanked the Working Group for their time and contributions so far in the review.

“There has been plenty of debate and discussion around what the group felt was in the best interest of providing the best competition pathway for our swimmers and engaging events for. I’d like to thank the Working Group for their collective recommendations and work so far and look forward to the discussions as we review the useful feedback received through the Community Feedback Survey.”

Make sure you contribute your feedback to help us provide the best competitions for our community by completing the survey by Sunday 10 March.

Johnson also provided an overview of the next steps in the Competition Review process.

“Following the community feedback window finishing on 10 March, all feedback from the survey will be reviewed by the Working Group. The Working Group will then use the feedback and meet to discuss any updates to the current proposal before they provide their final recommendation to the Swimming NZ board in May.”
