Competition Update – Date & Venue for 2027 NZ Short Course Championships

We are thrilled to continue unveiling the dates and locations for the 2027 competition calendar, with next year's New Zealand Short Course Swimming Championships now confirmed.

The 2027 New Zealand Short Course Swimming Championship will be held between 26 - 30 September at the Sir Owen G Glenn National Aquatic Centre in Auckland.

Swimming NZ Competitions Manager Kate Griffiths says the venue was an easy choice.

"The National Aquatic Centre always puts on a great show for swimmers from across the country. It’s a facility our community knows well, and it has been the setting for so many fast swims over the years. We can’t wait to bring the championships back to Auckland next year."

The decision builds on a successful 2026, when the venue hosted the largest open New Zealand Swimming Championships in history. Auckland is one of the easiest hubs to reach from around the country, and for those Auckland-based swimmers, it also means a national championship on their doorstep.
