Update on Expressions of Interest and Qualification towards the 2026 Oceania Swimming Championships

Swimmers across Aotearoa are striving to achieve qualification standards as they work towards selection for the XIV Oceania Championships, to be held in Fiji from 9–12 May 2026.

Interest in the competition has been strong, with nearly 50 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) received to date. As of 16 March, approximately 50% of those swimmers have already achieved the required performance standards.

A list of all swimmers across New Zealand who have achieved qualifying times is available below, as at 16 March 2026. Those highlighted have also submitted an Expression of Interest.

These performances have been achieved in accordance with the Selection Criteria, within the qualification window that opened on 1 November.

Expression of Interest Reminder

If your name appears on the list as having achieved a qualifying time, but you have not yet submitted an Expression of Interest, please do so as soon as possible. The EOI form will close on Monday 30 March.

Submitting your EOI helps ensure a smooth and efficient process following team selection, and we appreciate your cooperation.

Selection Process

Congratulations to all swimmers who have already met the qualifying standards.

Please note:

  • A maximum of three swimmers per event may be selected, across both Youth and Development categories combined.

  • Final selections will be made following the conclusion of NAGS on Sunday 12 April.

  • This is not a selection announcement, but an update for information purposes only.

The team is scheduled to depart for Fiji on Wednesday 6 May, and efforts will be made to complete selections as promptly as possible after NAGS.

Additional Information

As outlined in the Selection Criteria, while the New Zealand Swimming Championships cannot be used as a selection event, selected swimmers are expected to compete at the championships upon their return from Fiji.
