More people swimming, more often
Swimming New Zealand and the Banana Boat NZ Ocean Swim Series have partnered together to continue promoting fun opportunities to get outdoors and swim! We both have the same goal of helping more people swim more often and creating positive swimming experiences, so we are stoked to continue this partnership for the 2022-23 swimming calendar this summer.
There are plenty of opportunities to get participate in open water swimming this summer. Whether you have set yourself a goal to swim your first open water swim on a Tuesday night or your first triathlon, or you want to have a swim vacation by ticking off the idyllic swims across Aotearoa, these events are awesome to be part of.
Swimming New Zealand’s Head of Participation & Events, Dale Johnson, is pumped about the continued partnership. “We have been hosting the Secondary School Open Water Swimming Championships as part of the Banana Boat NZ Ocean Swim Series for the past few years, so we can’t wait to continue that this summer. We are excited to be working closely with Jason and Dan to support all the other great events they host across the summer. The People’s Tri and the weekly Beach Series all provide opportunities catering for different ability levels and this aligns closely with our goal of helping to get more people swimming more often. These events have such a great vibe, and it is awesome to partner with Jason and Dan to provide these positive swimming experiences.”
Banana Boat NZ Ocean Swim Series’ Event Director, Jason Herriman, loves the partnership direction too.
"We have a huge respect and admiration for the energy and time Swimming NZ put into the top “1%’ers” of our sport, but also the many many thousands each year who learn to give it a go. The team are super amped to see Dale & Chloe coming along to not only our NZ Ocean Swim Series, but our many other ocean-based events too. It really is going to be an epic season with the support of Swimming NZ!"
