Competition Update – Dates & Venues for 2027 Junior Festivals
We are excited to announce the dates and venues for the 2027 Junior Festivals, taking place on the first weekend of March to round out the summer.
The Junior Festival – Mako will be hosted at the Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre in Christchurch for the first time, welcoming swimmers from across the South Island aged 12 and under. The festival in Christchurch will be hosted across two days, instead of the usual three days in previous years.
Waterworld in Hamilton will host the Aquaknights Festival across four sessions over Saturday and Sunday.
The Harlequins festival will once again be held at Sir Owen G Glenn National Aquatic Centre in Auckland, held over four sessions on the Saturday and Sunday of the weekend.
We intend to host the All Stars festival in the Wellington region on the same weekend as the other three competitions. Confirmation will follow once an exact venue is secured. This festival will once again be held across three sessions.
Kate Griffiths, Swimming NZ Competitions Manager, is looking forward to welcoming young swimmers from around the country.
"The Junior Festivals are a fantastic opportunity for young swimmers to experience a fun, competitive environment while making new friends and representing their clubs. We're excited to welcome swimmers to their respective zonal festival for another memorable weekend in 2027."
Competition information and criteria will be released later this year. Once available, all details will be communicated and published on the Pool Calendar on the Swimming NZ website.
